About Nicholas

These organisations have invited Nicholas to share space, insight, and the quiet wisdom of the natural world.
Walking the Path
Nicholas Green grew up between two homes – a farm in Cornwall and a remote cabin in Finland – surrounded by open fields and deep forests. His childhood was defined by freedom and immersion in nature, where foraging, folklore, and time spent outdoors were part of everyday life. In Finland, it was common for children to sleep outside, and Nicholas still finds peace by retreating into long grass or the woods when life feels overwhelming.
His connection to the land runs deep. Farming and gardening are in his blood, and he has carried these skills across continents – from biodynamic farms in Ecuador and Costa Rica to permaculture projects in Guatemala. Back home, he’s worked in hundreds of gardens, allotments, and community projects, learning first-hand the simple satisfaction of returning home tired, muddy, and content after a day’s honest work on the land.
Teaching and facilitation come naturally to Nicholas. After qualifying as an English teacher and later as an accomplished Yoga teacher, he discovered that his deeper calling was to guide people. For 15 years, he ran a successful gardening business in Bristol before shoulder and knee injuries prompted him to retrain in Nature-Based Practice, Horticultural Therapy, and Forest School. From there, he began focusing on what he knew worked: using the natural world itself as a therapeutic tool to help people feel grounded, clear and connected.
Nicholas’ personal journey – through single fatherhood, men’s work, and recovery from addiction and depression – informs his compassionate and grounded approach. He founded Green Spaces, a community initiative offering men’s walks and retreats in nature that create space for rest, reflection, and honest conversation.
Today, Nicholas works with charities, community groups, and corporate clients, bringing the healing power of nature to people from all walks of life. His work delivers tangible results – improved focus and physical immunity, reduced burnout, and a renewed sense of connection.
As he says, “We all came from and go back to the ground – sometimes you just need to touch it again.”
